What does KGRA Stand For

KGRA stands for Known Geothermal Resource Area. A KGRA is a geothermal industry term used to describe a parcel of land that has a very high statistical likelihood of containing an economically viable hot water reservoir useful for power production.

KGRA’s focus on above-ground waste heat opportunities eliminates the substantial cost and risk of searching for and extracting fuel (heat) – the very items which have proven to be challenging to the broader geothermal sector. Naming the Company KGRA is a satirical nod to KGRA’s founder’s history in the geothermal sector.

"We had been keenly aware that our process consistently dumped vast quantities of heat into the environment. Once we began working with the KGRA team, we put this wasted heat to sound economic use - which of course also helped with our green PR strategy"
